NPC guests will be given a number of discount vouchers for various bars and restaurants, all within walking distance of your accommodation and lifts.
Almost all restaurants have English menus and English speaking staff, but don't be afraid to take your Japanese phrase book!
Please note that although some places accept Visa or Mastercard, cash is the main form of payment.
At present there is no ATM that accepts international EFTPOS cards in the village; however, the post office in nearby Kutchan accepts international EFTPOS cards, as well as some credit cards. Australian dollars can be changed into Japanese Yen in the NGS office located inside the Goodsports Building.
Niseko has two convenience stores, stocking most groceries and alcohol; opened from 7am to 11pm, this is the main place to get food and supplies (cash only). There are two main supermarkets in Kutchan accessible by free bus.
There are several ski and snowboard retail shops in the village, offering skis, boards, outwear and boots. Alternatively, Kutchan has several larger retail outlets for equipment offering excellent deals on ski and snowboard equipment.
It is extremely important that guests have health insurance cover in case of accidents. In the case of an accident, the guest will have to pay the hospital directly- not cheap in Japan. As long as the guest has insurance, all hospital, translation and transfer fees will be covered by your insurance company.
