Niseko is famous for its deep and fluffy powder snow. The resort area starts from an altitude close to sea-level and rises to 1200m, offering over 1000m in elevation.
Niseko is made up of 57 runs consisting of 38 lifts and gondolas and totaling over 47 km in groomed slopes with the longest run being 5.6km. As well as the powder, the terrain offers a good mixture of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs, half-pipes, quarter pipes, table tops, mogul fields, tree runs and lots of natural hits to ensure everyone’s tastes are catered for.
Lift facilities operate without rest for over 12 hours a day - starting at 8:30am and closing at 9:00pm. One of the highlights of the day is night skiing. The illuminated area is huge with fantastic visibility and is available every night of the week; even tree runs are accessible. A powder night session is a must experience!
Niseko weather can be extremely cold and change very quickly, a number of the lifts have protective weather hoods that open and close automatically to keep you sheltered from the conditions. However, it is recommended that skiers and boarders be fully prepared with warm gloves, face masks and beanies; available on the mountain and around the village.
Niseko United offers seven different on mountain restaurants perfect to re-fuel, rest or take shelter from the weather. Catering for all tastes, ages and budgets you are sure to find something to keep you going back for more.
Throughout the town there is a free shuttle bus that runs from 9am to 9pm offering transfers from accommodation to the lifts and back. This shuttle service is only available for skiers/boarders and cannot be used for transport around the village.
With so many options on and off the mountain, our guides will show you the best runs, from gentle powder runs for beginners through to advanced deep powder tree runs. After an exhausting day on the mountain they can even show you the best hot springs, restaurants and bars for the ultimate recovery session!
